The Shang Dynasty
"Traditional Chinese historians trace the origins of China deep
into the mythological past. However, until about 221 B.C., many smaller
states, even in China's central regions, divided its territory. The
earliest traditional dynasty confirmed by archaeology is the Shang (ca. 1500 -
1050 B.C.), whose kings ruled from a series of royal capitals in the Yellow
River valley, and vied for power and territory with the rulers of neighboring
states."

Similar art may be seen from the Zhou dynasty
which generally adopted Shang traditions (particularly in bronzeworking).
